The Kaiserslautern High School Fifties ClassessurvivedBash2000 in Nashville!May 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2000May 5th - Friday: We gathered at the Clubhouse Inn Downtown. Dinner program included recognition of lots of people starting with Coach Roncoli! - singing Rhine High Forever and the infamous WACAYA song and of course "The Happy Wanderer" - an update on Bob Long in Viet Nam (see that Rhine High Forever page, but check the update date). Coach Roncoli gave a very moving account of his coaching years at Rhine High, which Mary Bradley-McCauley has written down in good detail on her Web site. May 6th - Saturday: Full breakfast buffet followed by a motorcoach tour of Nashville, by Nashville Express Tours. In the afternoon we held a business meeting. In the evening we had a prime rib dinner, cruise and show (Big Band stuff - hey, I'm not THAT old!) on the General Jackson Showboat. May 7th - Sunday: Sunday brunch at the Opryland Hotel - a definite treat - just seeing the hotel was worth going over there. Business Meeting: At the business meeting we decided to form the Kaiserslautern American High School Alumni Association Fifties Decade Chapter within the KAHS Alumni Association. We approved an Articles of Confederation and Bylaws - what you read here is an earlier draft, with some comments by me - to be updated. We elected officers: President Bob Richmond '55 (hey, that's me!) Vice President Jerry King '55 Secretary-Treasurer Warren Hopkins '55 And I appointed or re-appointed: Reunion Co-ordinator Mary Bradley-McCauley '55 1953 Class Representative Barbara (Bobbie) Katz-Kleinsmith 1954 Class Representative Bob Corbett 1955 Class Representative Bob Richmond and Jerry King 1956 Class Representative Gary Weaver 1957 Class Representative Ben Downing 1958 Class Representative Glen Eubanks and Judy Yeager-Morrissette 1959 Class Representative Diane Beitzel-Marsh We plan to hold reunions every other year. A short list of cities for a 2002 reunion was put together. A possible reunion in Italy next year is NOT part of this reunion cycle. The Wet-Dry Reunion May 19-25, 2000, began with a hotel reunion in Orlando FL and continued with a Caribbean cruise.
