Scot Dunlap
Bas/vocals
BIO
Scot began playing at age 14 taking the
bassist spot for a local Knoxville metal band called "Fallen
Angel". Not much was happening with the band so in 1992
he, jazz percusionist Walter Ferguson, vocalist Jamie Beech and
guitarist Mark (Stark Raven) formed "Recluse." A
rough demo was made in the rehearsal space but never released.
Then Scot met guitarist Mathew Wolfenbarger and began writing songs with
he and Daniel Brooks (Magpie Suite) briefly as "EVANGELICAL
HYPOCRISY" before disbanding. In 1994 he, guitarist Jason
French and drummer Shannon Collins formed "BESIEGED."
The band released one EP with the original drummer and Chad Walls (Brodequin,
Misery) was brought-in on drums for another EP and a self-titled
CD. The band then signed with Jay Bird Records to release "AkeldamA"
in 1997 with drummer Gabe Passmore. The band broke-up shortly
after and later reformed as "AbsolumN" to escape a bad record
label deal. The band wrote a debut CD but was never released
before disbanding once again due to religious/personal
differences. Scot was then approached by a former BESIEGED
guitarist Daniel Byrd to record a groove metal CD. They enlisted
vocalist Wes Huntsinger (Fitch, Placid) and ex-Besieged drummer
Gabe Passmore to form "FATHOM." The four recorded the
"Bard" CD in late 2000 and an unreleased EP in 2001 before
disbanding. Then Scot formed "Myyrdraal" with former
"Lanfear" drummer, guitarist and vocalist Patrick,
Jeremy and Deitch. In 2002 Scot formed a Knoxville new metal band
called "SANDROPE" and recorded one CD that was never
released. In
2003 former drummer Chad Walls hooked him up with former members of
"NOCTURNA" Bryan, Jason, Adam and "QUO VADIS"
drummer Yanic Bercier to form "EMPYREAL DOMINION." Once
EP "Forever the Fallen" was released with the original line-up
before Scot was dismissed. In May of 2004 Scot was contacted by
former ENTER SELF guitarist Wes LcQuire and offered the bassist spot in
AseraphymN.
